The yoga ad aside...effective in that they are memorable/funny? Sure. Effective in that they inspire people to try to lose weight and then draw customers in to purchase? Maybe, but I think their target market is already highly aware that they're overweight/out of shape. I could actually see the ads inspiring people to withdraw from public attention even more. I'd sat at best it increases brand awareness.
