The mazes seem to be the same. If you rotate the first maze 180 degrees clockwise you'll get the second maze. It depends on which end-point of the maze you put as the start.

It's a design that's pleasing to look at but total non-functional. I would hate to be in a rush to leave to the house. Least of all a fire as tx972 mentioned. I'm sure I'd end up smashing my door one day.

Ya. I agree with everyone else. Nice to look at, but completely non-functional. I couldn't even see wasting money on it as a novelty item.
