Life, what is the meaning of life for you?

What is the meaning of life for you,
grow something in your hands,
love someone with your all feelings,
miss the things and look behind them with your tears,
getting old,
live alone,
which one describes you, none of them??

There might not be a meaning, but if there is, you certainly won't be told. One can only believe that there is a meaning. So why waste time on asking...

Beautiful images. Black and white suits the subjects well. Meaning of life? It's certainly not in the answer but may be in the question itself. Thanks.

Absolutely stunning photographs!

You ask a question as old as time. If you are lucky this lifetime, there will be moments in your life when you will find that you are saying to yourself, "this is it, this is what life is all about".

Meaning is a thing of thought; It is how a piece sits in a larger puzzle. Since life is constantly evolving, always transcending into new realms, it's meaning is constantly evolving as well.
It may be more fruitful to ask, "What is the meaning of _my_ life?" How does your life fit in the larger puzzle of existence?
If you find that your life is meaningless, you should change it.
You can't fake your heart; You can't _invent_ meaning. We can't create castles out of blocks, declare ourselves King or Queen, and find meaning in that: the landlord will still come, and ask us for our rent check. And should we master the money game, and become the landlord to countless others, we will still be oh so far away from the true king in the Heart.
Something is either meaningful or it isn't, according to your most sincere heart.
Meaningful lives today are spent on things like the environment (the natural ecology,) on invention, on raising people's spirits, on the ending of poverty, and so on. Perhaps there is something else you can find meaningful as well.
We are beggars for work; Life has no use for the useless.

@43 my intuition is kicking out... true-self... a book I was reading about being god in g minor... what I thought about is that God wants me to be me, not what my wife, kids, society or anybody else expects me to be. My meaning is to be me... at least begin there. Then the landscape bear fruits, embedding our imprint, uniqueness, on all endeavors . Just like this pages show your beauty within. Lion Kimbro has an excellent point "Life has no use for the useless", like my son's favorite series "Thomas the engine" let's be useful. Clementine, I told my wife I was going to be ready for dinner 20 min ago...Chao!

the meaning is...
wake up in the morning looking forward to a new day and feel alive
smile to all indifferent people to try to make them feel alive
never hide your tears
always be grateful for having an opportunity to live, to breath, to love
this is the meaning...

"Life, what is the meaning of life for you?" Every day holds a different meaning. I truly think that if I had the answer what the meaning of life is/was/could be, then I would definitely be a lot happier in general as the answers would there in front of me. I think the question you posted everyday! My girlfriend thinks i'm nuts regarding this & similar questions! If you do come up with the answer please let me know!

Hi Clementine. What a lovely poem, so succinct, so powerful, and amazing images to go along with the writing. I love poetry and photography myself - because i believe they individually capture what I call "aspects" of life the best for me compared to many other medians. As for the comments you have received for this blog entry - fantastic! Well done - capturing the hearts and minds of people is part of what life is about in my book. Brian - i agree with your perspective. It is so interesting to see your comments about the importance of death in life - this is a quite a common theme in eastern philosophy. I subscribe to both the east and the west, as my background is mixed. I think everyone's has personal truth and I enjoyed reading them all. Thank you. And thank you Clementine most of all fore creating the platform for thoughts and feelings - as you said so poignantly in your poem "love someone with all your feelings", I think if we can manage to do this on a daily basis then we are really living. If we realise that we are going to die sooner than later - then we are more likely to live than to let a "moment" pass us by. Peace to you all. Bishan :)

The purpose of life is simply to fulfill the Creator's purpose for creating us.

Our Creator said He created us to love Him with all our heart, all our soul, all our strength, and all our mind, as well as to love all His creation, including our neighbors, as we love ourselves.

He formed man of the dust of the ground, then exhaled into man's nostrils His Breath of Life, so that man became a living soul. From those who don't fulfill their purpose, the Creator will inhale and withdraw His Breath of Life from their form, and they will return to their pre-creation state, dust in the wind.

Only then will the simplicity of the Creator's purpose for His universe be fulfilled - perfect peace and happiness, as only those who have chosen to fulfill the Creator's purpose for their life, will live, forever.

K. I. S. S. Love simplifies. Hate complicates. This temporal life is the opportunity to choose permanently, the Creator's purpose, to love and live, or to choose contrary to the Creator's purpose, to hate and die.

Every time we laugh and wholeheartedly enjoy live we send some quart of "spiritual food" to whatever you believe in. Providing that food is the meaning of live. To produce that food you need to find your purpose. And if you can't find it - just create it - it's OK.

Ha ha ha - what a great question Clementine !!!

Castaneda wrote that the Universe is constantly trying to become aware of itself (though he was a fraud, he did have interesting ideas). If so, clearly we are part of that quest. Life is more about the journey than the destination. We are here to participate and interpret the experience of life, to apprehend and contribute to its beauty, and if possible, to leave the world a better place.

There is no meaning. We are all here on this Earth for a select period of time. To interact, to bond. Hopefully to fall in or out of love. Then, like the gentle wind that carresses our face, we pass on to become but a fleating memory of those that follow.

The meaning of life is simply to live life. Energy never dies, it simply changes form. Since we are all made of energy that means that we don't die either, we simply change form. So do amazing things in this life to help each energy signature that derive from it to evolve into an even more complex and memorable energy signature in the next life. Worrying about what this is all about is simply distracting you from living it in the first place ... so go live life because that's the purpose anyhow.
