Synthesizing the past with the present, Jason Powell took old photos and fused them into modern day society creating an amazing project called Looking Into the Past.

Fascinating. I was just looking at an interesting example of this published in an 2006 National Geographic, where the photographer had gone on a hike in Sweden and when taking some shots, realized he was in the exact spot that a post card he had bought for his daughter was taken.

One of those, "once you see it, it's everywhere" moments.

What a fabulous idea. I want to try this with some old family photos now. I guess I could even color the photos to make it work better.
