Magnolia Tree is Soccer Field's Centerpiece!

Now here's a cool concept. Why not add a new "green" element to soccer matches by putting a 10-meter high magnolia tree in the center? It would add a new element to the game as players could hide behind the tree for sneak attacks.

Chilean artist Sebastian Errazuriz planted the tree in the center of Chile’s National Stadium where dictator Pinochet tortured political prisoners 30 years ago. It would have been more appropriate to build a two-piece overhead sliding rain cover to protect your players from the elements. Massive steel girders built on the inside stadium area would be the internal structure holding the panel above. On a clear day, you simply leave them open and allow for a more natural game event.
If you did build a perspex cover, it would roll out from one side of the arena in length to the other with support beams at either end of the field. Putting a tree in the middle of the ground debases the idea of 'saving one tree'. Perhaps around the outside of the building would have been a better placement.
